Azzurri and Encyclopędia Britannica Launch Talmos Britannica at BETT 2007
Enabling Teachers and Students to Access Thousands of Trusted Reference Materials at School and at Home Online
Azzurri Communications and Encyclopędia Britannica have joined forces to unveil Talmos Britannica, a new online system that enables teachers to create lesson plans and other aids to classroom teaching and homework, with ease, confidence and accuracy.
Unveiled on Azzurri's stand (D101) at BETT, Talmos Britannica is an exclusive combination of TALMOS, the market-leading lesson planning and learning platform; and Britannica's huge and unrivalled resource of carefully-edited, authoritative information, photographs, illustrations, video, audio and interactive content.
Teachers and students will now benefit from access to thousands of Key Stage 1, 2, 3 and 4 resources across all curriculum subjects delivered within Talmos through the world's leading source of trusted information - Encyclopędia Britannica. Users of Talmos Britannica benefit from three great attributes: content organised by teachers for teaching purposes, trusted material from the world's most authoritative source, and a secure learning environment for classroom and home use. Teachers will be able to search the full range of Britannica's online databases for learning modules, text, images, and interactive content closely aligned to the curriculum.
Having access to Talmos' unique curriculum tagging capability, teachers will save time spent on planning lessons by confidently matching appropriate resources to strands of the curriculum and QCA Schemes of Work.
Encyclopędia Britannica includes the work of many of the world's most distinguished scholars. Past contributors included Albert Einstein, Marie Curie and Sigmund Freud. Talmos Britannica draws on this immense tradition and presents its content in a way that's carefully formulated for today's teachers and students.
Gerard Toplass, Business Development Director for Azzurri said: “We are extremely excited about this partnership and are delighted to be able to showcase Talmos Britannica at BETT 2007. Teachers will be able to search Talmos Britannica's unique, authoritative content and incorporate it into their planning to deliver powerful and engaging lessons to match the different requirements for their students. To further improve lesson preparation and delivery within the classroom, we are also producing subject by subject lesson plans, including homework as companions to the service.”
